Lider Motorbike & Luggage Trailers
There’s no need to use sophisticated methods or to know advanced technology in order to choose the best from among available motorbike trailers. You just need common sense on your side to do so!
First, find the towing capacity of the vehicle to be used in pulling the motorbike trailer. You can usually find the information either on the vehicle’s owners’ manual or inside the driver’s door.
Second, calculate the maximum load that can be towed by the vehicle. Keep in mind that the vehicle will be towing not just the weight of the trailer but also the weight of the motorbike placed on the latter. If the maximum load exceeds the capacity of the vehicle, then either find another vehicle or find another motorbike to load. Overloading is ill-advised where motorbike trailers are concerned because of the risks for accidents. For example, the trailer together with its load (i.e. a motorbike) can tilt over even within the speed limit because of overloading. The driver and occupants of the vehicle can suffer from injuries brought by the accident, which could have been avoided.
Finally, consider the materials, design and construction of the trailers. Look at the thickness of the metal to determine whether it can actually hold the weight of the motorbike. Look at the chassis design to determine its suitability for rugged landscapes. Look at the wheels to determine their durability for carrying such heavy loads.
